"Recovery Inside"
by Anonymous
Rehabilitation is a life process, in recovering from alcoholism. I learned that I will never be rehabilitated.
Like ill and now better.
Although, that is what I truly believed.
In the year of 1999, I partied like its was 1999 alright (like the Prince song sings)
I was drunk and driving alone, no seat belt, music blasting in my red convertible Miata, top down listening to my cassette tape Black-n-Brown Pride around the corner from my mother's.
I was coming from my home "San Jose"
Well I never made it to 70 mph, just about 2 blocks away. I was mostly on the gas pedal, slammed the brake at the stop sign but didn't stop before.
But instead hit the stop sign pole, spun out and drove into a kitchen.
The air bag popped open, saved my life. Came here to jail DUI # two before I could finish FOP I became a MOP "Shit!" I went to meetings.
AA thought I had my drinking under control since I looked to have it together unlike
Other "alcoholics"
Boy was I wrong.
Rehabilitation
is more than just stopping at a stop sign. It's really stopping before that 1st drink. Finding out what it really is that makes you want it? Dig in deep "inside".
Don't medicate,
Don't hide.
Find your way to "Recovery inside."
That's Rehabilitation.
